ALB SENIORU GRUPA LAIMA
ALB Laima Aged Care Unit was established by The Latvian Association of South Australia Inc. in 2002 to provide an aged care program which helps the elderly Latvian speaking people in South Australia to continue to participate in their social, cultural, linguistic and religious activities organised by their community organisations. ALB Laima provide information, advice and referral to culturally appropriate and mainstream services.
Rosme lunch is held on the first Tuesday of every month at 11.30 am in the Talava Small Hall. Once a month a bus picks up the Latvian elderly from Talava for lunch and scenic drive. Monthly cooking lessons are held at 11.00am. Saturday morning demonstrating traditional Latvian dishes. Information sessions are held on a regular basis.
ALB Laima provides support for carers with regular activities along with two retreats every year. A dedicated group of volunteers help with the activities.
